The Experience
Set right on the Sandy Ground strip, Lit is a two-story open-air lounge that catches the trade winds off the salt pond and lagoon. The lower deck is the social living room ΓÇö a long bar, high-tops, and enough seating to settle in for a slow dinner of late-night bar bites. Head upstairs and the mood shifts: a wide open lounge with room to actually move, DJs and live sets rolling under a full sky of stars, and the kind of crowd that mixes locals, boat crews, chefs off shift, and travelers who found the place by asking the right person. It opens at 6 PM sharp so you can slide in for a sunset cocktail and, if the night has that particular Anguillian magic, still be there when it wraps at 3 AM.

Order anything Taffy Hodge is pouring ΓÇö he's widely considered Anguilla's top mixologist, and the specialty cocktail list rewards trusting the bar. The rotating late-night menu is put together by a rotation of the island's award-winning chefs, so ask what's on tonight rather than hunting for a signature dish. Thursday is Karaoke Night hosted by Darvin Mussington and it's the single most fun room on the island that evening ΓÇö come with a song ready.

Roll in around 5:55 PM, grab a rail spot on the lower deck facing the pond, and order your first drink before the sun drops ΓÇö Sandy Ground sunsets are famous for a reason and Lit's opening hour is deliberately timed to them. Then migrate upstairs after 10 PM when the music gets serious. If you want the karaoke crowd, Thursdays fill up fast, so eat first and arrive by 9.
