Road Bay (also called Sandy Ground Haven) is the one spot on Anguilla where the island lets its hair down. During the day, take a 10-minute boat shuttle to Sandy Island for shallow-water snorkeling and lobster on the sand. If it's a Sunday, catch the Johnno's live jazz session ΓÇö a decades-long island tradition.

Skip snorkeling directly off Road Bay ΓÇö the anchorage kicks up silt and the reef here is thin. Instead, use Road Bay as your launch pad: the 5-minute charter to Sandy Island (or slightly further to Prickly Pear Cays) delivers the clear water and reef fish people expect. And on regatta weekends, get there by 4pm ΓÇö parking on Sandy Ground Road disappears fast.
The Practical Stuff
Located on Anguilla's central-west coast in Sandy Ground village. The beach is public and free; parking is along the road behind the salt pond. Best months are November through April for calm water and dry evenings. Bring cash for beach bars and boat captains ΓÇö cards are hit-or-miss. Water shoes are handy near the dock area, but the main beach is soft sand.
