The Experience
Seafeathers Bay (locals often call it Sandy Hill Bay) is tucked into Anguilla's quieter East End, a low-key enclave of expat homes and privately owned villas rather than a resort strip. You settle into a Mediterranean-style villa perched above the water, throw open the shutters to a view of St. Martin's peaks across the channel, and slip down a short path to a crescent of sand that stays yours for hours at a time. The bay sits on the windward side, but a long coral-rubble spit blunts the swell, so the water inside stays glassy and swimmable. Days drift between the pool deck, a snorkel on the inner reef, and drives to Shoal Bay East or Sandy Hill for lunch. It's Anguilla at its slowest and most residential, which is exactly the point.
What to Try
Snorkel straight off the beach: the inner reef starts a few fin-kicks from shore and is thick with parrotfish and tangs, and the outer rubble spit is a good spot to look for larger reef fish. Walk the shoreline at sunrise before anyone else is up, then drive ten minutes to Scilly Cay for lobster or over to Shoal Bay East for the powder-white sand everyone raves about. Book a villa with a hot tub or plunge pool so you can eat dinner in and still feel like you're on holiday.
Insider Tip
The turn off the main road is unmarked and easy to miss - it's a dirt track that climbs past a few houses and drops down to the sand. Rent a car (a small SUV is smart) because there are no restaurants, bars, or shops within walking distance, and taxis are pricey for the number of trips you'll want to make. Bring a full week of groceries from the supermarket in The Valley on arrival day.

Location: East End, roughly 20 minutes by car from Blowing Point ferry terminal and 15 from Clayton J. Lloyd airport. Lodging is exclusively private villas (two- to five-bedroom, with pools) booked through Vrbo, Airbnb, or Anguilla villa specialists - no hotels or resorts on the bay. Best months are December to April for dry, breezy weather; July-October brings hurricane risk. A rental car is essential. Cell and Wi-Fi coverage in most villas is solid.
